Even if you fall in sin, He still abides in you.
His responsibility is to remind you how precious and righteous you are before God.
I am not advocating for sin, I hate sin; sin destroys relationships, sin opens way for the devil and you would not want to eat breakfast with the devil on the same plate.
Sin will affect you more than you can imagine.
I am not telling you to live as you want; I am showing you the other side of the coin that God is not moved by your sins.
His love for you is beyond your performance.
It is through hearing His goodness that you will be able to repent from all your wicked ways.
“Do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” (Romans 2:4 NKJV)
The Holy Spirit convicts believers of righteousness — not sin.
He constantly points you to your identity in Christ.
This is the gospel because it reveals the righteousness and the goodness of God upon us.
The more believers know the grace of God, the more they will reign in life and have dominion over sin.
“We know that whoever is born of God does not sin, but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.” (1 John 5:18 NKJV)
Paul is talking about your spirit.
Your spirit cannot sin at any moment.
All power of dominating over sin is in your spirit.
The Spirit is the root that produces the fruit; your role is to bear them. You having no role in producing the fruit is because you are just a branch.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
So stop trying to be holy — just bear the holiness.
The more we know how to walk in the Spirit, the more we shall be able to produce the fruit that Paul talked about in Galatians:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22)
